A GREAT SUCCESS!
The brand new
Midsummer Great Escape turned out to be just that, a great escape for the whole family with many campers commenting on what a fantastic time they had during the weekend.

Taking place in the ground of the beautiful Prestwold Hall, there was plenty to see and do, from outdoor leisure exhibitors to circus workshops and a dog show. The changeable weather didn't seem to deter anyone - it simply whetted people's appetites as they all scurried into the beer tent!
From a variety of new and pre-owned motorhomes to a plethora of accessories, gifts, garden furniture and much more, there was something to suit every taste and budget. There was even a craft marquee where you could pick up gifts and craft tips to take with you on the road.
When stomachs started to grumble, there were plenty of food stalls to sample: from pork & apple baps to curry and even strawberries and cream.

Younger visitors were entertained at the show with incredible falconry displays, Punch & Judy shows, a free circus workshop (plate-spinning isn't as easy as it looks, as some of our team found out!) and Jez Avery's stunt shows.

On the Saturday, there was also a fun dog show where visitors could present their pooch followed by an amusing and very skilful display by Bill Heslop and his Rossendale sheep dogs.
The open air outdoor entertainment was fantastic and visitors applauded Jimmy Jermain & band as Cliff Richard, Steve Black & band as Tom Jones and a Queen tribute act from Queen B. The Saturday evening entertainment was an incredible treat with music from Abba and The Bee Gees.

Overall, the show proved to be very successful and was a true
