Fun at the Dethleffs event
MORE than 250 owners of Dethleffs motorhomes and caravans visited the manufacturer’s headquarters for a weekend for what can be best best-described as a traditional Bavarian knees-up.
The owners were treated to a weekend of factory tours, sightseeing trips and entertainment in Isny on the German-Austrian border.
Thirty of those who made the trip belong to the UK Dethleffs Owners’ Club, run by Richard Olphin (and wife Jane) who helped to organise the jaunt and made the 1,700 mile round trip from Stoke-on-Trent in his A642.
The visitors were treated to glimpses of forthcoming Dethleffs models and trips to the nearby Zeppelin Museum and Lake Constance. They were also introduced to the delights of the local cuisine and company song, ‘The Dethleffs Hymn’.
Richard said: “The trip was Dethleffs’ idea – they wanted to thank and reward customers for their loyalty – and everyone had a fantastic time.
“It was great to meet fellow enthusiasts from all over Europe and sample some local delicacies – even the local beer which encouraged a few too many of us onto the dancefloor later in the evening!
“Watching 250 Dethleffs owners singing the company song and doing all the actions was certainly a sight to behold!”
