The eight-foot-wide Bailey Pegasus Grande Bologna tourer has a spacious island bed
In Bailey’s new eight-foot-wide Pegasus Grande range, buyers looking for a transverse island bed and rear shower room layout have two options. There’s the single-axle Brindisi and the longer, twin-axle Bologna.
Both models have Bailey’s innovative, new lounge design, with a two-person dining table inside a wrap-around seating arrangement. Bailey calls it ‘G-shape’ — it’s easy to see why.
Yet it’s also an L-shaped lounge and, when you remove the side table, it becomes a U-shaped lounge.
The Bologna has a free-standing table, which is stored in its own cabinet aft of the kitchen. When it’s in use, it can be placed alongside the small table to make an L-shaped dining area capable of seating five.
In addition to the rear, transverse bed, a double bed can be created in the lounge by drawing out a base from under the settee, which runs across the front. The offside backrest, plus another infill section, complete the make-up double mattress.
The Bologna’s kitchen storage is generous, in the form of a 72 cm-wide cabinet with a drawer of the same width that’s 20 cm deep.
This contains a cutlery tray and there’s ample space around it for cooking utensils.
All Pegasus Grande models have Bailey’s double-hob cover; a glass lid covers the hob, then a cover that matches the kitchen surface hinges down on top of it, increasing the usable kitchen work surface significantly.
When the mercury falls, caravanners can switch on the Bologna’s Truma Combi 6 heating system.
The caravan pictured in these photos has the optional fabric scheme, which adds around £225 to the cost. The standard fabric scheme’s accent colour is a shade of sunset orange.
