Surrounded by woodland and farmland between the Galtee Mountains and the wooded slopes of Slievenamuck, this is a place to enjoy the simple pleasures – nature, peace and quiet, and quality family time.
Glen of Aherlow is a Caravan Club Affiliated site in Co Tipperary, close to Tipperary town and easily accessed from Dublin (118 miles). That may seem a long way to travel, but when you arrive on site you’ll receive the warmest of welcomes from George and Rosaline.There are 48 pitches, of which 40 are hardstanding. Water, waste and electric hook-ups are available and the motorhome service point with drive-over grey waste and fresh water supply is a welcome addition to this pristine site.
On a clear day the views are breathtaking and the explorer in you will be keen to go on a wander. There’s a four-mile circular walk from the site entrance, and unlimited trekking in the Galtee Mountains. Handily, there’s a tourist information point just 300 metres away, along with the Coach Road Inn, and a pottery shop. You can also walk to the Nature Park where there’s 50 acres of woodland to discover.
For evening meals, the Aherlow House Hotel is nearby with lovely views from the terraced area. Children who don’t thrive on the great outdoors may head for the recreation room with pool and table tennis, the TV room, or plug into the WiFi. The thing is, to come here and hide away indoors is to do this place a disservice. It deserves to be explored.
This is a site for those who want to get away from it all. You certainly won’t want to leave once you’ve had the pleasure of being here.

Directions: Leave M8 at Jct 10 onto N24 to Bansha. Turn left at O’Heney’s bar onto R663. At the Coach Road Inn continue for 300 yards to entrance.
