Campsites in East Anglia: James Crockett recommends three super sites

b8bfd10c-7d52-4007-b11c-e7c17d7a095f

James Crockett, one of our Caravan Ambassadors, sent us his top tips for good campsites in East Anglia.

James Crockett has a Volvo XC90 and a Bailey Ranger 550/6 caravan.

Outney Meadow Outney campsite

Bungay, Suffolk, NR35 1 HG

This campsite is brilliant. It’s a short walk to the quaint town of Bungay which has a range of unique shops. The site is partly situated on the Norfolk Broads and is just over the border into Suffolk. You can hire canoes from the site and have a paddle in the very calm Outney broad. We take an inflatable boat and the kids, and adults, have a ball!

Sandringham Camping and Caravanning Club Site

The Sandringham Estate, Double Lodges, Sandringham, Norfolk, PE35 6EASandringham Camping and Caravanning Club site

The Sandringham Camping and Caravanning Club site is five minutes up the road for us and is perfect for taking the bikes out about the local countryside.

We sometimes head there for a mini break to recharge the batteries. There are some great playgrounds at the site, and the staff are friendly and professional. The kids can collect fir cones for sweets as the site is building a ‘hedgehog hotel’. North Norfolk coast is a short drive away.

Incleboro Fields

Incleboro Fields

West Runton, Cromer, NR27 9QG

Set on the north Norfolk coast this site is a short drive away from a great beach. When the weather is the right combination of sunny and a bit of wind the waves can be pretty good. Perfect place to take the body boards.
