Moon and Sixpence

As you drive into this park, which is centred around a large ornamental lake and man-made beach, you can understand why the price for your stay is high – the facilities are superb (although the 5 amp hook-up disappoints).

There are a choice of many outdoor activities, including golf, petanque, volley- and hand-ball, and tennis. You can also enjoy a snack or meal in the delightful club house – again as tastefully furnished as the rest of the facilities.

There is one area for adults only, but children are well catered for with a large modern play area, and they can of course play on the sands around the lake and make-believe they are by the sea!

Static caravans are around the entire site, but tastefully hidden among the trees, amidst landscaping and shrubs and trees, giving an air of peace and tranquillity to the whole site.

The site is set in a unique Suffolk beauty spot close to the town of Ipswich, the sailing mecca of the River Deben, Alde, Orwell and Stour. From here, you are a short drive from unspoilt Woodbridge with its marina, historic Tide Mill, indoor swimming pool and cinema, while the Heritage Coast offers unspoilt beaches, pine forests with cycle and horse riding trails.

For the fisherman you can spend the day fishing in the lakes on the site, which is well stocked with roach, breem, carp and tench, with a daily fee payable (fishing permit required).

The site is also close to Rendlesham and Tunstall Forests, for long country walks, while the coastal towns of Aldeburgh, Southwold and Thorpeness are a short drive away. At Snape Maltings there is an international concert Hall and an antiques and craft centre.

Because of its location and facilities The Moon & Sixpence does not allow less than two nights stay at weekends, and four nights at Bank Holidays, but you are assured a relaxed and comfortable holiday.
