Located in the Cairngorms National Park, the town of Grantown-on-Spey is a delightful one. This traditional Highland town on the River Spey was carefully planned out in the 1760s and is an impressive example of a Georgian town. As well as a square and high street, the town also features a museum and all manner of elegant buildings. Get lucky in the nearby woods of Anagach and you may even spot a red squirrel (and even if you don’t you’ll enjoy a pleasant walk in this pretty woodland).
Also offered by the campsite are glamping pods, a holiday home and two wooden wigwams. These are heated, doubled glazed and fully-insulated units that sleep up to five people and have foam mattresses, seating a table, electricity and Freesat TV. There is also a camping pod for hire offering luxury living in beautiful surroundings and residential lodges on the site.
All people staying on the campsite have access to a modern toilet block that features under-floor heating and privacy cubicles, plus disabled facilities. There’s also a separate washroom designed to suit parents with small children that features a small bath, hand basin and baby-changing area.
There are also two laundry rooms – complete with washing machines and tumble dryers – as well as a games room with a pool table and table tennis.
Children can enjoy a large outside play area – an impressive-looking wooden structure that features slides, climbing frames, a wobbly walkway and monkey bars.
On the campsite you can also buy soft drinks, ice cream and sweets, while a more extensive selection of groceries can be found within a 10-minute walk.
