A peaceful and relaxed holiday awaits you on this award winning Five Star Touring and Camping Park located on the edge of Pembridge, one of Herefordshire’s most beautiful 'Black and White' villages. The pitches are spacious and fully serviced. There’s an immaculate facilities block with a large disabled washroom and family bathroom, while for the little ones there is an amenity area and play area. There is a dog walking area, an on-site farm shop and butchers which prepares the finest meat from Townsend Farm. Pleasingly, three pubs and restaurants are within a few minutes walk of the campsite.
This is probably one of the nicest and most peaceful sites we have been on. The facilities are superb - certainly on a par, if not better, than many of the club sites, and it is obvious that a lot of effort has gone into the planning and layout of the site. There are many different aspects to choose from, so you can have your outfit in the sun or shade, by the trees or by the lake and the pitches, both grass and hardstanding, are spacious.
We found the lake and its multitude of water fowl lovely to look at, but we wouldn’t have liked to pitch up too close to the lake, because you really have to watch where you step! There is no bar or restaurant on site, but we found several excellent pubs within a few miles and the site is really convenient for visiting mid Wales. A few minutes' walk takes you into the centre of Pembridge where you can browse the shops or relax with a meal. The city of Hereford is nearby as well as the market towns of Leominster and Ledbury.
The farm shop and butchery provides great local produce and high quality traceable meat. Orders can be taken and prepared ready for your departure.
The park also offer the accommodation of camping pods which provide a warm cosy space. It is camping without the tent. You bring all your usual camping gear but the wooden 'pod' is ready and waiting for your arrival so there's no danger of having to try and pitch a tent in bad weather! There's a porch and decking area, secure glazed doors and the pods are designed to be warm in winter and cool in summer.
Overall we found this site peaceful and with superb facilities, and we were pleased to have a choice of serviced pitches on grass or hardstanding. We certainly plan to make a return trip in the future.
