Open all year, Newton Mill is an award-winning campsite, lying in an idyllic hidden valley in a Local Nature Conservation Area close to the city centre of Bath. Both Bath and Bristol are serviced by regular buses, while the Bath to Bristol cycle route is a traffic-free alternative. The heated amenity blocks are of the highest standard and contain bathrooms, showers and private cubicles. There is an attractive Old Mill Bar and Restaurant beside the millstream. The campsite is an ideal base for touring the many attractions of the region and offers 190 pitches (85 on hardstandings).
This family-owned, open-all-year award-winning campsite is hidden in a pretty wooded valley, with its own trout stream flowing through the site (and fishing is free). Its awards include the 5 Star Loo of the Year in recognition of the high standard of its heated toilet facilities, the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation and the ADAC (of Germany) Logo of Excellence.

The long narrow campsite is close to the many tourist attractions of Bath, yet it lies within a rural setting in a beautiful Local Nature Conservation Reserve. A nearby traffic-free cycle path or frequent bus service (every 10 minutes during the day and 20 minutes in the evening) aids transit to the delights of the city centre. The bus stops above the site and a woodland path leads from the camping area. There is also a bus service to Bristol every 12 minutes.

The restaurant and bar, which is open every day, serves family meals and al fresco streamside tables are popular during suitable weather. Children have a playground nearby, too.

A total of 85 marked gravel hardstanding pitches are suitable for motorhomes or caravans. All have electric and TV hook up (which is required due to the poor reception in the valley). Although the tent field is separate from the caravan park, some of the hardstandings have grass tent pitches behind to allow a caravan and tent to be accommodated together when required. There are several suitable for large motorhome/American RVs  but some of the others were not over-generous in size. All are serviced by tarmac roads with fresh water service points at various locations. There are some seasonal pitches at the far end of the site.

The 105 tent pitches lie in two parts of the campsite: the Paddock and the Main Tent field. The Paddock lies alongside the stream and is purposely kept car free so that campers can enjoy a natural camping experience (cars are parked on the opposite bank) while the main tent field allows cars to be parked adjacent to the tent and also has several pitches with electric hook-up available.

Reception and a well-stocked shop are central, along with a well-equipped launderette, the tourist information room, and the Old Mill Bar and Restaurant while the two toilet blocks are at either end of the campsite.

The lower spacious heated block serving the caravan/motorhome park has toilets, showers individual private washing cubicles and two bathrooms (extra charge made), chemical toilet disposal and washing-up sinks. There is also a well-equipped shower-toilet facility for people with mobility difficulties. The motorhome waste point is located here. It is situated close to the wall which makes it a little difficult to access, but most people manage.

The upper toilet block serves the tent fields and also has toilets, showers, individual private washing cubicles, a bathroom, a family room and washing-up sinks.

Open all the year, Newton Mill is an ideal touring centre for the many attractions of the region, or it is simply a place to relax, enjoy the birdsong, the babbling of the millstream and the abundance of nature that surrounds you.
