An adults-only campsite, developed within the grounds of an authentic Victorian Grange, using the original honey-stone barn as its award-winning facilities block, which will appeal to the discerning adult. The campsite grounds incorporate rolling meadows, ancient woods and riverbanks; access to which is available via the woodland trails and dog walks. The on-site chef prepares country fare, (predominantly sourced locally) in the semi-formal restaurant and rustic lounge bar. Market towns of Bridport, Beaminster, and the coastal resorts of West Bay, Lyme Regis & Weymouth are an easy drive away.
Bingham Grange is an adult only campsite near Bridport, set within 20 acres of attractive Dorset countryside, offering touring, motorhome (some fully serviced), plus tenting pitches.
The campsite has been designed to offer two entirely different environments,- the first- an intriguingly terraced traditional tree-lined meadow for tourers and campers which overlooks a wooded valley that conceals the river beyond, the alternative - formally landscaped circular gardens set in front of the old Grange-house itself offering pitches with hardstandings for tourers and motorhomes of a
varying size.
In addition to toilet facilities housed in a restored stone barn, the campsite offers its own semi-formal restaurant (located on the first floor of the barn) that serves homecooked meals using local produce, prepared by the park's experienced resident chef (hours dependant on season) at reasonable prices.
Nearby is West Bay with its own beach, harbour and pubs, as well as the quaint old seaside town of Lyme Regis just a short drive away.
Located just off the A3066 and directly overlooking the Brit Valley, Bingham Grange offers an ever increasing number of fully serviced plots which, because the vans are sited at differing angles can promote a friendly ambiance whilst still retaining a degree of privacy.
The toilet and washing facilities which currently holds a 5-star Loo of the Year award are quite exceptional - with private shower suites that include washbasins and toilets, alongside a further toilet / shower area of conventional design.
The cosy Buzzards Bar. located on the top floor of a former honey - stone hay barn offers a range of local and national beers, wines and spirits served in a lounge setting adjacent to the restaurant and takeaway area. There are delightful walks direct from the park's own woodland and quite probably the most attractive dog walk along the banks of the River Brit you would have ever seen.
There are excellent shopping facilities only a few minutes drive away in the market towns of Bridport and Beaminster, or a little further afield at Dorchester or Weymouth, buses pass the park's gate.
There are few opportunities remaining to experience the Dorset Country life of yesteryear but this rural idyll must surely rank amongst the most enchanting of those that do.
