Recently acquired by brand-new owners who live on site, this fantastic family run touring park is a real find - it’s one that you’ll want to return to time and time again, for many different reasons.

As its name suggests, Hidden Valley is nestled in a peaceful wooded valley near the quaint village of West Down in Devon. You can’t get much quieter than this, so if you’re looking for a tranquil break, this is the campsite for you.

The 109 level pitch campsite is spread over two beautiful wooded and secluded areas. There’s an ornamental lake and stream running through the site (plus a pretty footbridge), which provide a lovely backdrop for a morning stroll.
The site is immaculately kept and the new owners do all they can to help or advise visitors - it really does make a difference and allows you to feel very welcome.

Pitches are available for motorhomes, caravans and tents and range from your bog-standard pitch (which still provides sixteen-amp electric hook-up, TV connection, water tap and is hardstanding, grass option is also available) all the way up to an all-singing-all-dancing Premium pitch, which is an extra large block paved area with all the essentials, plus your very own picnic table, low level lighting and garden area. Many of the pitches are also separated by mature tree screening for privacy and shelter.

If you think that’s good, the facilities are even better. On-site there are luxury shower and toilet blocks with free showers, hairdryers and (best of all) under-floor heating. There are disabled facilities available, too. You’ll also find a laundry room and covered dishwashing for campers use.

If you get a bit peckish, the on-site coffee shop serves full English breakfasts, which are a welcome escape from cereal in the ‘van. If, however, you’d prefer to cook yourself, the well-stocked shop will provide you with everything you need, including Calor Gas, Campingaz and ice-pack hire.

In reception, you’ll find a handy tourist information area with leaflets and ideas on how to entertain the whole family, plus Wi-Fi is available  if you fancy doing some further research. When you find a suitable activity, there’s a bus stop right outside the site - you won’t even have to start your own engine to get anywhere here.

Kids will adore the two children’s play parks giving them a safe and social area to meet others.

For dog walkers, there’s a dedicated exercise area on-site, plus, venture into the surrounding woodland and you’re in a whole other world - tread through the woods up the valley sides for glimpses of incredible views through the trees.

The real bonus on this campsite is the immaculately-kept garden - not only does it provide a colourful place to walk and explore, but also attracts an abundance of wildlife, including birds and insects.

There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area, making this campsite a perfect base for exploring. Woolacombe is just three miles east and the Victorian town of Ilfracombe is just four miles away. Both offer an abundance of shops, quaint coastal cafés, unique boutiques, high street stores and supermarkets.

The whole area is a surfer’s paradise and, even if you’re not taking part, it’s still just as entertaining to watch from the beach. The sandy beaches at Croyde Bay and Saunton Sands are also close by.
