Park Details
Occupying a sheltered 37-acre park surrounded by spectacular scenery, Rivendale is ideal for walkers and cyclists being just 100 metres from the Tissington Trail with footpaths leading directly from the campsite into Eaton, Biggin and Dove Dales. In poor weather Chatsworth, Alton Towers, The National Tram museum, Tissington, Kedleston and Haddon Halls are within easy reach, as are the charming market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock. Underfloor heated toilet buildings, Wi-Fi café, pub and restaurant with log fires on-site. Accessible B&B, pine lodges and fly fishing available.
Rivendale Caravan & Leisure Park is a high-quality, privately-owned site right in the heart of the White Peak region. Situated within an old quarry, with cliffs on three sides, this bright and open site feels huge. It offers 120 pitches, 88 of which are on hardstandings.

There are a number of different camping areas, all of which boast a different feel, with some being more formally laid out than others. But wherever you pitch there’s plenty of room around you, and you can enjoy the planting, which has been well thought out and sympathetically applied.

In fact, Rivendale’s owners set much store by their environment, and not only for their customers. They have won ten David Bellamy Gold Awards in total, which were given for preservation of existing wild flower meadows, woodland and ponds, and construction of a new wildlife pond.

The site totals over 37 acres in all, with much of this, but not all, being open to campers to walk and admire the fauna and living creatures that live within it. The rest of this area is exclusively reserved for wildlife, making it a safe place for many rare species.

There are a few static caravans in one corner of the site, but they are unobtrusive. A single toilet block sits right at the centre of the camping areas, beside which is a large children’s play area with picnic tables nearby. All the facilities are spotlessly clean, and include underfloor heating in the shower block, laundrette and covered washing-up sinks, disabled facilities, and a shop that also sells gas.

Beside reception you’ll also find a licensed bar and café, as well as a games room and a separate adults lounge. The bar sells a variety of drinks, including real ales, and is situated within a barn with open wood beams and stone-clad walls. It is also the setting for many special events, including discos and themed food evenings.
