Wellhouse launches budget-priced campervan

aafb0016-e3ff-4ebf-825c-d3dea5ec6c9c

A new entry-level model called the Lux is joining the award-winning Ford Terrier campervan range from Wellhouse Leisure.

It offers two single beds, a large wardrobe, rear kitchen and either a pop-top or high roof, with on the road prices starting from £34,000.

Based on the long wheelbase Ford Transit Custom, the 5.4 m long Lux has a completely different layout to any other Wellhouse Terrier model, with two fixed rear bench seats to provide extra storage and larger, more comfortable single beds, with easy access through to the rear kitchen and wardrobe at all times.

The front seats swivel to face the rear and make a spacious lounge area to relax in during the day, while the living area can also be accessed via the nearside, sliding side door or rear barn doors.

Despite the entry level price, the Lux still includes a kitchen with two-burner hob, sink and 40-litre compressor fridge, on-board fresh and waste water containers, a leisure battery and mains hook-up. Options include an electric step, Eberspächer heater, 95 W solar panel, roll-out awning, and a Dometic cassette toilet discreetly fitted at the rear offside of the vehicle without consuming the space of a full toilet compartment.

The Ford Trend trim level provides heated windscreen, DAB radio/CD with multi-function display, Ford SYNC with emergency assistance and audio streaming, USB connectivity and Bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors, electric adjustable and folding door mirrors, front fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, air conditioning and heated front seats, plus a leather-covered steering wheel with remote controls for the audio and cruise control. It is powered by Ford’s 2.2TDCi, 99bhp engine with Euro V emissions and a six-speed manual gearbox. There is also the option to upgrade to the more powerful 123bhp or 153bhp version.

Commenting on the introduction of the Terrier Lux, David Elliott, Managing Director of Wellhouse Leisure said, “We’ve had lots of people asking for the popular single bed and end kitchen layout, so we predict this great value two-berth will be a big-selling model in our Terrier campervan range.”

The new Wellhouse Terrier Lux is available exclusively direct from Wellhouse Leisure and will make its public debut at The Motorhome & Caravan Show at the NEC, Birmingham from 13 to 18 October 2015. The Wellhouse Leisure showroom in Shepley near Huddersfield is open six days a week, and for more information, or to book a viewing, go to wellhouseleisure.com/ford.
