Wellhouse Ford Terrier debuts at NEC show

Terrier snapping at the heels of campervan buyers

As previously reported, Wellhouse has been working on a new, long wheelbase, high-top version of the award-winning Ford Terrier campervan, and duly showcased the new version at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome show at the NEC, Birmingham.

The LWB version gives an extra 37cm length body and with a factory-fitted high-top offers noticeably more interior living space and room for convenient extra features such as a high-roof, L-shape kitchen and a rear, corner washroom with a Dometic cassette toilet.

Like all Terrier models, the two-berth, LWB High-Top model still offers seating for five people as it uses the same, crash-tested sliding rear seat as the pop-top version to give the flexibility to bring passengers nearer the front seats while travelling or vary the amount of storage or living space, as required.

It also shares a class-leading, high standard specification with two trim levels available, S and SE.  The Terrier LWB High-Top S model includes a SMEV sink and hob with glass lid, Waeco 40-litre fridge, while the SE gains Eberspacher heating with a digital control panel, 95W solar panel, alloy wheels and an electric step.

The Ford Transit Custom kombi base vehicle has an economical 2.2 TD engine with 125 PS, plus a high level of standard equipment compared to rivals, including: twin swivelling front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, cruise control, DAB radio, metallic paint and rear parking sensors.

Despite a much higher standard specification than most, the LWB Terrier offers great value for money with on the road prices starting from £41,500 for the S model and £44,000 for the SE. It is available to order now for first deliveries in early summer.

Dining options with the Ford Terrier LWBL-shaped end kitchen in the Ford Terrier LWBDavid Elliott, managing director of Wellhouse Leisure added: "We are delighted to expand the Terrier range with this exciting, stylish new LWB, High-Top model. It offers all the stylish looks, driveability and value for money as our existing pop-top model, but with the luxury of extra living and storage space plus full on-board facilities, yet is still compact enough to use every day.”
