9ffedf57-7c37-4ab4-ad2f-2fd4ffa12bea

Taking your motorhome to Spain has never been cheaper or easier thanks to a range of new ferry crossing options, from the likes of LD Lines. So what’s on offer if you set sail to sunny España?

Savour the sites of Santander
In Santander the city centre includes a network of museums such as the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Santander and Cantabria, Museum of Cantabria, Museum of Prehistory, the cathedral or the Interpretation Centre of the Ancient Springs Santander.

During summer the Semana Grande festival features a Day Fair with dining booths, musical entertainment to suit all tastes and children’s activities. Cultural activities such as Art Santander are held every year in July.

Highlights of Gijón
Parks, gardens and theatres are major features of Gijón and events in spring include Latin American Book and Spring Solstice.

In summer you can experience:
  • Week of the Ocean
  • Street Art
  • International Folk Festival
  • Natural Cider Festival
And in Autumn enjoy:
  • Gijón Film Festival
  • International Comic Fair
  • Gijón Jazz Festival
Gastronomy also plays a major role in Gijón’s appeal which includes events each month such as:
  • Championship snacks and tapas in Asturias
  • Asturian Cheeses
  • Food Festival of beans and mushrooms
  • Gastronomic cuisine of Gijón
Motorhomers interested in making the trip will be intereseted to know that LD Lines has announced increases to its ferry service network to Spain.

The addition of a weekly sailing to Gijón, linking in with its existing St.Nazaire – Gijón route and recently launched new service between Poole and Santander, make northern Spain cheaper and easier to reach than ever before.

Single fares for a motorhome and two passengers are:
  • Poole – Santander and Poole – Gijón: £318 including cabin
  • Rosslare – Gijón: £275 including an inside cabin
