Sunset Park at Hambleton near Blackpool, Lancashire has once again won the Lancashire & Blackpool Tourism Award 2011/2012 for the “Best Caravan Park/Holiday Village”. The win means the park goes straight through to the National Visit England Awards for Excellence 2012.
The award was sponsored by KPMG’s Travel, Leisure & Tourism (TLT) Group based in Preston and presented to Sunset Park by Anthony Cox of KPMG, at a glittering event at the Blackpool Pleasure Beach Paradise Room with 320 guests attending. 17 Lancashire businesses were rewarded for their quality and service to tourism in their category.
The award was collected by Directors Sandy Taylor and David Mooney and Park Manager, Chris Mooney. Chairman, Michael Taylor, later said how proud he was, not only of the judges’ high opinion of Sunset Park, but also of his team of staff that are the soul of the Park to visitors.
“Lifestyle is what we are about at Sunset Park,” Michael added. “Visitors today want quality and friendly service. We strive to provide that for them in all that we offer with modern luxury holiday homes and amenities in a relaxed country setting where they can enjoy nature at their doorstep.
“Statistics show that tourism adds £3 billion pounds to the visitor economy of the country. We are delighted to play our small part in adding to the positive side of the economy in these hard times.”
