SUSSEX HOLIDAY PARK TO STAY OPEN LONGER

Owners of holiday homes at a major East Sussex holiday park have just had their holiday year extended by around 10 percent.

Coghurst Hall holiday park in Hastings has been given the green light to remain open for 11 months of the year, a four-week addition to its previous ten-month licence.

It becomes the fifth member of Park Holidays UK successfully to apply in recent months to have its opening season increased by the local authorities.

At Coghurst Hall, which is set in hundreds of acres of ancient woodland with a large fishing lake at its heart, owners can now use their holiday homes all year other than February. Previously, January was also a closed month on the popular 565-home park.

According to Park Holidays UK director Tony Clish, extended seasons provide added value for customers, and reflect the realities of modern holiday-home construction: ‘Holiday caravan and lodge manufacturers have made huge strides forward over the past couple of decades in terms of equipping these properties for four-season use,’ said Tony.

‘Highly-efficient central heating systems take just minutes to raise the inside temperature, and features such as double glazing and enhanced insulation keep energy costs to a minimum.

‘Extending the time when the home can be used also mirrors the changing pattern of holiday-taking which now favours more shorter breaks taken throughout the year,’ he added.

Recent months have also seen season extensions granted on Beauport holiday park in Hastings, and at the three Kent coast holiday parks of Alberta, Sheerness and Harts. More information is available at www.ParkHolidays.com
