Plas Coch owners take to the croquet mallet

Croquet on the Lawn could soon become a regular activity at the five star Plas Coch Holiday Home Park, Anglesey.

The Celtic Lawn painstaking laid at the side of the Plas Coch Elizabethan manor, a Grade II listed building, recently became the perfect place for learning how to play the game, known as golf croquet.

James G McAllister, chairman of Plas Coch park, had been planning the lawn for some time and he invited LLanfairfechan & North Wales Croquet Club to introduce the game to the holiday home owners at Plas Coch.

Georgina Llewellyn and her late husband founded the Croquet Club 21 years ago.

“We found the enthusiasm shown by the home owners definitely augers well for the future of the game, and long may it continue,” Georgina said.

“We just love showing the uninitiated how to play our favourite game and do so at every available opportunity.”

Five-star Plas Coch sits on the edge of the Menai Strait, which separates Anglesey from the north Wales mainland. The park has caravan holiday homes and lodges available and the manor house is home to an indoor pool, spa, gourmet restaurant and club room.

The park’s Marine Club and water sports centre offers opportunities for sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, power boating and other activities.
