Holiday and residential park operator Lifestyle Living Group has donated the site fees of Kidney Support Scotland's caravan back to them for 2012.Lifestyle Living, which owns both caravan and park home developments across the UK, has donated the site fees for the next 12 months back to the kidney charity, effectively giving them free use of the site for a year. The caravan, which is situated at the Silver Sands Park in Lossiemouth in the Scottish Highlands, is used by the charity as a retreat for kidney patients after their operations and treatment to rest and recuperate.
Fundraising manager at Kidney Support Scotland, Margaret Winney, said: 'It's fantastic news for the charity. These extra funds will help with dialysis and transplant patients' relaxation. It will also be useful to make some repairs to the caravan.'
The charity provides people recovering from kidney transplant operations or dialysis treatment with support to make their lives easier, such as food and shopping. This service is provided for free.
'Kidney Support Scotland originally wrote to us asking if they could pay their site fees monthly instead of annually,' said Tony Barney, owner and chairman of Lifestyle Living Group, 'but I felt that they would be able to help more people with their hard work if we donated those fees back to them. We hope to see more of the charity's patients enjoying their recovery time at Silver Sands very soon.'
