Oxon Hall Touring Park
Visitors who choose to stay at five star Oxon Hall Touring Park in Shrewsbury can now do a spot of fishing during their stay.
The caravan holiday home and touring park, which is owned by Morris Leisure, sits in glorious parkland on the edge of Shropshire's county town. Shropshire Anglers Federation (SAF) has taken over the fishing rights for Oxon Pool, which adjoins Oxon Pool Holiday Home Park and Oxon Hall Touring Park. The pool is stocked with perch, bream, carp, roach and rudd, with pike to specimen proportions.
The pool is a designated nature site which both walkers and anglers are welcome to visit. People staying on the caravan park who wish to go fishing can purchase a day ticket, which includes SAF day membership, from the park reception for £7.
"Holiday home owners as well as visiting touring caravan and motorhome owners will be delighted to have the opportunity to fish in the improved Oxon Pool," said Edward Goddard, managing director of Morris Leisure. 'It's another good reason to own a holiday home here or to visit the touring park."
The countryside park is conveniently located close to Shrewsbury town centre, with a Park and Ride bus service available to transport visitors to the town centre, which has a range of shops, pubs and restaurants.
"Apart from being on the edge of the town, the park is also well placed for those wishing to explore the rural delights of Shropshire and the Welsh Marches," Edward added. "Our existing holiday home owners tell us they enjoy the tranquil views across the lake with its abundant wildlife, bird watching from our own bird hide and relaxing walks in the grounds."
