Cheers as holidays get longer at caravan park

eedc5719-44d6-48c0-a09d-98d2bf7bbd35

Owners of holiday caravans at a major leisure centre in Lincolnshire are celebrating after being told that their holiday year has just been extended by 20 percent.

Beachcomber Holiday Park in Humberstone, Cleethorpes, has been given the green light to remain open for ten months of the year - a two month addition to its previous eight-month licence.

The local council's extension to its opening season means that owners of the 450 caravan holiday homes at the park will no longer have to make their last visits in October. They can now continue enjoying stays until the start of January.

Owned by the Varley family for the past seven years, Beachcomber provides a host of facilities including an extensive entertainment complex and heated lido pool.

‘Holiday caravan manufacturers have made huge strides forward over the past couple of decades in terms of central heating systems, double glazing and enhanced insulation,’ said Richard.

‘Extending the time when the home can be used also mirrors the changing pattern of holiday-taking which now favours more shorter breaks taken throughout the year.’
