This weekend offers the opportunity to see latest 2013 models unveiled at the caravan, lodge and park home show of the year.
They will be among more than 130 residential and holiday homes on display at the Caravan Extravaganza, which is held annually at The Lawns in Cottingham near Hull. (If using a sat-nav, input HU16 5SQ.)
Highlights of the show are several brand-new models making their public debut. They include a 42x16 twin unit from Pemberton, the Arrondale; the 42x20 Bowmoor Lodge from Prestige; plus Carnaby’s Cascade Aspect, a 37x12 with a centre lounge and their new 37x13 lodge.
Open Saturday and Sunday from 9am till 5pm, the show is organized by the Hull and East Riding Caravan Manufacturers’ Association. Admission costs £3 per person or £7 for a family. Parking is free. Dogs are welcome if kept on leads.
In addition to the park and holiday homes, all open for close inspection, there will be well over 100 touring caravans on display plus a huge accessory centre.
Entertainment includes a children’s funfair, bouncy castle, face painting and balloon modeling. That’s not to mention a strolling jazz band and a brass band plus the usual refreshments including a bar. The RNLI, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and Police Crime Prevention Unit all have stands.
A bonus is the Cottingham Park Caravan & Lodge Show taking place almost next door to The Lawns at the Cottingham Golf Club, also on Saturday and Sunday. (Input HU16 5SW on the sat-nav.) Several dozen more holiday homes are on display there and attendance is free. Watch out for the Victory stand.
