Haven prepares for rise in UK holidays

DESPITE the economic doom and gloom, Haven Holidays is continuing its rolling programme of investment at its 35 holiday parks around the UK.“This year more people than ever look set to take a holiday in the UK,” the company says, “and we want to ensure they have the best possible experience. It’s even more important for people buying a holiday home on one of our parks that facilities are first class.”
More and more Haven parks have caravans sited in smaller ‘community developments’, offering increased privacy, or positioned to maximise the views and minimise the impact on the environment.
One focus for 2009 is on the provision of new and improved food options and, following the popularity of the Ropeworks course at Hafan y Mor in North Wales, climbing walls and ropes courses are being installed at several other parks. Pools are also being improved and an outdoor children’s SplashZone is being introduced at Thorpe Park (pictured).
In addition to an extensive coaching programme in some sports, Haven has introduced ‘mini’ coaching sessions for younger children – and there’s no charge for tinies.
The company has an even bigger and better entertainment programme planned for 2009, and there is always a special extra programme exclusively for caravan holiday home owners. Events include an Owner’s breakfast on Sunday mornings, wine and cheese evenings, quiz nights and even special themed balls.
Prices for holiday homes on a Haven park start at less than £15,000, and include the first year’s site fees and insurance. Prices vary from park to park.
