New caravans from Lunar for 2012

Lunar has reduced the prices of its Lexon range by £200 for 2012. The two six-berth Quasars, the 546 and 556, are down by £100.Prices across Lunar’s other ranges are unchanged.

Lunar Lexon 420

Four new models are introduced for 2012. There will be a four-berth Quasar 494 with an offside dining area that converts to bunks, and a rear washroom. Price will be £14,995; the weight is yet to be announced.

In the Lexon range, two new models arrive. The 420 is a two-berth with an end washroom, at £14,695. The MTPLM will be 1150kg. The four-berth 520, with end washroom, has a nearside dining area wide enough to seat four children. The price will be £16,995; the MTPLM will be 1420kg.

In the high-specification twin-axle Delta range, a new family layout arrives. The Delta FB has two fixed bunks, an end washroom and a side dining area wide enough to seat four children.

Layout changes are made to eight models. One model in the Quasar range gets changes to its washroom, to introduce his-and-hers wardrobes that sit astride the washroom entrance on either side of the door. As in all Lunar end-washroom models, the Quasar 462’s toilet has been moved to the offside, to avoid extracting the cassette into an awning.

The tiny two-berth Stellar’s L-shaped kitchen moves from the offside to the nearside. The offside washroom now has a separate shower.

In the Lexon range three models get revised layouts. The four-berth 530’s settees are 12cm shorter than in the 2011 model; this allows the caravan to be shorter – and lighter than the 1460kg MTPLM of the 2011 model; the weight of the 2012 530 has not yet been announced.

The fixed-bed Lexon 540 gets a slightly longer lounge; the distance between the end of the bed and the dresser forward of it is reduced.

The Lexon 560’s island bed is re-aligned to lie across the caravan, with a corridor along the caravan’s offside. A dressing-table-style array of shelving, cabinets and a large mirror is on this offside wall.

All Clubman and Delta models now have deep-pile carpets and LED wardrobe lighting that automatically switches on when the door is opened. These models, all with the Alde heating system, now have domestic-style washroom radiators with towel rails mounted above. Pull-cord light switches have been introduced, to be within reach of children.
Three models in the Clubman range get revised washroom layouts to take the toilet from the nearside to the offside; in all three models the shower is on the nearside. These are the two-berth, centre kitchen CK, the four-berth, offside dining area ES and the fixed-bed SE.
