Coachman Pastiche 560-4

Stunning new body shapes in Coachman’s Pastiche, VIP and Laser ranges introduce grey roof rails that link raised shoulder lines front and rear.

Graphics are bold, in shades of grey with bright green on Lasers and VIPS, and bright blue on Pastiches; Wheel arches and skirts are dark grey… Coachman, until now largely regarded as traditional in exterior styling, have suddenly become bolder and brighter than most in lines and graphics.

Lasers now have Alde heating and under-slung water tanks. Both Lasers and VIPs have the ATC stability control system.

Amaras are lighter by between 40 and 60kg, and Lasers, VIPs and Pastiches all have sunroofs running the full width of the caravans.

Pastiches and VIPs have Truma Combi-Boiler space and water heating systems with a new programmable controller that’s exclusive to Coachman. The unit is under a settee, which removes the imposition of a heater on layout – and that means more storage space. That advantage is in the kitchens, which now have big double-door cupboards.

Pastiches, VIPS and Lasers all get hitch overs what you can stand on – to clean the sunroofs! Sides are now one-piece aluminium. Battery boxes have connections for solar panels. Doors are slightly wider and taller – and with magnetic catches to hold them in the open position. Window blinds are pleated, Omnivent extractor fans now have clear panels which don’t exclude light.

Hobs are dual fuel. End bathroom models have a wide, deep Belfast-style sink. Pastiches have external shower attachments – for washing dogs and boots.

Coachman Amara 570-6

The main Amara changes for 2012 are about weight. Models are between 35kg and 65kg lighter than 2011 models; lighter weight materials have been used in construction.

Amaras now have dual fuel hobs, new fabrics and a new Truma Ultrastore water heater with a double element which is designed to heat the water quicker.

Coachman Amara 570-6

The two-berth Amara 380/2 loses 40kg in weight; its MTPLM is now down to 1235kg. The end-washroom 450/2 is down to 1380kg, losing 45kg. The four-berth, side dining area 520/4 now has an MTPLM of 1555kg, losing 65kg. The five-berth, double-lounge 550/5 loses 50kg, down to 1630kg. The fixed-bed, end-washroom 560/4 is now down to 1600kg, losing 45kg. The fixed-bunk, side washroom 570/6 loses 40kg, down to 1635kg. The two twin-axle Amara also lose weight – the 640/6 with a dining area that make bunks, and an end washroom, drops by 60kg down to 1760kg and the twin-lounge 655/6 loses 35kg, down to 1775kg.

Prices have yet to be announced.


New Truma timed heating system

The Truma Combi-Boiler hot water and space heating system has a domestic-style timer function. To set it, you scroll through a menu to find summer and winter mode and then temperature settings. You can set the temperature of both the caravan and the water.
You can also choose the power source – mains 1kw or 2kw, or gas  – or both, for rapid heat-up.
Water temperature goes up to 60 degrees. And you an even set the brightness of the control panel screen.
