New caravans from Adria for 2012

2f224763-5fc9-4e1c-9751-7b5869671351

Adria launches a twin-bed model of a unique layout with a front kitchen and central lounge.

The Adria Astella 613HT has the highest equipment level of any Adria imported to the UK.

At 2.48m wide it breaks into new territory for tourers, made possible by a change in tow width regulations last year.

Adria Astella

It is a four-berth – the lounge makes into a double bed – although its principal appeal will be to couples.

The Astella 613HT is designed specifically for the UK market by the Slovenian manufacturer. It comes to Britain to test the market and may form the foundations of a range of more models.

It will have Alde heating, extending to heat an exterior-access storage locker. At £17,990 the Astella will be the lowest priced caravan to have Alde heating in Britain.

Its overall length has not been officially announced. However, the body is 6.10m. It rides on a single axle.

The shower room is across the whole width of the rear, with toilet on the offside, shower on the nearside. The shower is wall-boarded, as distinct from fully-plastic lined. A hinged door closes off the washroom from the single bed area.

The lounge-dining area and the kitchen are of a unique layout. On the offside, L-shaped seating wraps around a large, rectangular monopod table, with a settee on the offside.

The kitchen is also L-shaped, occupying the whole front width and extending along the offside wall, with a large surface and fridge.
Cooking facilities are a three-burner hob, oven, and a small microwave set into the lower cabinets between a cutlery drawer and a deep drawer beneath.

New rule on caravan widths

From April 2010 caravans up to 2.55m wide can be legally towed behind any normal car in Britain.
This change in the law was brought about to bring the UK into line with regulations in Europe.
Previously caravans more than 2.3m wide had to be towed by a car with a weight of 3500kg or over

Adria Adora 612 DT
Altea and Adora

The Altea and Adora ranges will go into 2012 with unchanged layouts. The four-model Adora range has new woodwork, of a mellow shade, and a new wood-effect flooring that appears throughout the 2012 Adrias.
A new feature in all single and double fixed bed models is hinged lift-up sections at the pillow ends of the beds, creating a recliner section.
Both Altea and Adora will also have wiring for a microwave although neither of these ranges have microwaves as standard equipment. Both ranges also have wiring in place and roof strengthening to enable air conditioning units to be fitted. Exterior luggage hatches are now on all fixed bed models, as are external television aerial input points in the mains power access lockers. Removable wheel covers are now standard on all models. These are plastic inserts to bridge the gap between an awning skirt and the top of the wheel arch, to prevent draughts. They are designed to be removed when towing..
