A GROUP of Holiday parks in North Devon is adding to its green credentials by creating an energy efficient amenities block.

Work has begun on the new block at Twitchen House Holiday Parc, part of the Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parcs group, and is expected to be completed by March.

The building, which will house toilets, showers, a sauna and steam room, will incorporate a variety of energy saving technologies including rainwater harvesting, underfloor heating, solar panels and energy efficient boilers.

“The environment is an issue that we’re quite passionate about, and it’s something that our customers want too,” said Woolacombe’s marketing manager Richard Holmes.

"We’re looking at these areas to invest in  - and we’re hoping that this project will progress to other parks within the group.”
