Camping and Caravanning Club celebrates awards haul

THE Camping and Caravanning Club is celebrating a bumper year after ten of its sites won individual awards for excellence, and its call centre won Best Contact Centre at the European call centre awards.

Among the sites prize winners were Barnard Castle Site in County Durham, which won bronze at the North East England Excellence in Tourism Awards, Chertsey in Surrey and Graffham in Sussex, which both won Gold David Bellamy Conservation awards, and Veryan in Cornwall, which received a Silver David Bellamy Award.

Glencoe Camping and Caravanning Club Site in Argyll was highly commended at the 2006 Scottish Thistle Awards in October – and was praised for it’s commitment to customer care.

David Welsford, the club’s director general, said, “These are all fantastic achievements for the camping and caravanning club.

“We pride ourselves on being imaginative and professional in whatever we do. We lead the field with daring new call centre technology and site individuality, which enables us the encompass environmental features and facilities. This in turn helps us to win countless awards, showing our commitment to being the best at whatever we do.”
