Keat Farm's portfolio of touring parks are all perfectly situated for exploring the county of Kent.

Whether planning a weekend break or choosing a summer holiday, the region offers so much to discover and enjoy. The coastline is never very far away, ancient history is abundant and you can enjoy peaceful surroundings or a fun-packed seaside town.

Keat Farm has three touring parks in its group: Hawthorn Farm in Dover, Little Satmar near Folkestone and Quex Caravan Park in Birchington near Thanet.






An MMM Premier Park, Hawthorn Farm’s 28 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens contain some 5000 established ornamental fruit and woodland trees. The port of Dover is a six minute drive away. Martin Mill station is nearby and within easy reach of Blue Flag beaches and the historic castles of Dover, Deal and Walmer. Fine golf courses, fishing, swimming, tennis and bowls are just some of the local activities available. Two local public houses serve excellent value food. Rated five stars by the tourist board and an AA award winner. All the normal on-site facilities are available, including a shop and off-licence. Hawthorn Farm is situated at Martin Mill, two miles from the beautiful St Margaret's Bay near Dover. The site is ideally positioned to explore the delights of Kent. Close by is the seaside resort of Herne Bay which features many historic buildings and is home to what is thought to be the world's first purpose-built freestanding clock tower - this dates back to 1837. Deal is an attractive Georgian seaside town that offers a beach and a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and sandwich bars, as well as weekly markets and museums. Deal also features an impressive Tudor castle that's open from the beginning of April to the end of September.


Three miles from Dover ferries and 1/2 mile off the A20, is the friendly campsite of Little
Satmar which has a silver David Bellamy award. The site has a touring field for tents, caravans and motorhomes with its own WC block and dishwashing area. Pitches are separated by open fences and electricity is available. A full shower block is located near the reception area. Nearby Folkestone offers a harbour and seafood stalls, while Sandgate has quaint clapboard houses. Up the road is the moving Battle of Britain memorial with the statue of a young seated pilot looking out to sea. Drive on and you drop down the hill to Folkestone with its harbour and seafood stalls. The harbour side boasts a couple of pubs and a short walk towards the sea brings you to a bathing beach. Further along the coast is the picturesque Sandgate. Dover has its castle, white cliff walks, art and Roman galleries while Folkestone has its port area, hillside town shopping and grand cliff top buildings. As well as being a departure point for the continent, this area is well worth exploring over a longer stay.

Last but by no means least, Quex is a picturesque, level and partly-wooded park with a peaceful atmosphere. The lovely sandy beach at Minnis Bay is only two miles away, and the leisure and sporting activities at Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Sandwich are all within easy reach. The fascinating Quex House museum and gardens adjoining the park are well worth a visit. The site is also a handy place for a stopover on your way to the Channel ferry ports. The Park features 42 touring pitches which are mainly grassed with electric hook-ups. These are set amidst mature trees and the site is within walking distance of the village of Birchington. On-site facilities include a laundry, toilet block and shop. There's also a takeaway and café, which is good news for those that don't want to drive again once they've pitched up. Pets are allowed on site and there's also a children's play area. For those who like to stay in touch with family and friends when they're on site, or want to find local activities or restaurants, it's worth noting that Wi-Fi is offered. As well as the nearby delights of the sandy beaches, there are slipways nearby, so anyone looking to launch a boat will be able to get speedy access to the South Channel stretch of the North Sea. Sea fishing and watersports are popular in this region and Birchington is popular amongst kite surfers. Equally, horse-riding and sailing are popular in the area.
