Scotland - Sunnyside Croft Touring & Camping Site

For most caravanners, it’s a long way to the west coast of Scotland and the small Highlands village of Arisaig, but the travelling is worth it when you pitch up at this little piece of paradise. The area is beautifully rural and the view to the coast and far-off islands is one of the best. The coastline boasts white sandy beaches with views of the Small Isles, some of which can be explored via ferry, and the Isle of Skye. The touring site’s facilities are just as impressive as its views. There's modern, high quality washrooms with facilities for the disabled and a family bathroom. There’s a laundry, free wi-fi, and a wetsuit and dog wash. Reception stocks basic provisions and local produce, while an impressively large wall-mounted map in the covered seating area matches the epic scale of the views.

Yorkshire - Black Swan Country Park

A pitch with fantastic far-reaching views stretching 40 miles across the Vale of York adds an element of the spectacular to this otherwise unassuming caravan park behind a pub and restaurant. Black Swan Country Park, near Masham in North Yorkshire, is just nine miles from the A1 and offers vast open countryside views. There are 50 hardstanding pitches in two ranks, around a small central amenity block. When you tire of the long views over Yorkshire, stroll back uphill
to the Black Swan pub to sample its highly-regarded ales and home-cooked food.
Your pitch fee includes a £5 voucher per unit per night to use in the restaurant.

Ireland - Mannix Point Camping & Caravan Park

Ireland has some of the finest views in Europe. At the north-western corner of the Ring of Kerry, Mannix Point is on the very edge of the European continent. The caravan park is surrounded on three sides by hills and mountains, and on the fourth by the sea, offering wonderful views in every direction. Most of the site’s pitches have great coastal views, and are well placed for the spectacular sunsets for which this area is famous. It’s just a 15-minute walk to the many
shops, pubs, and restaurants of Cahirciveen.

Norfolk - Gale Cruisers Riverside Caravan Site

The interconnecting rivers and lakes of the Broads in Norfolk and Suffolk provide not only excellent views but wildlife in abundance, and plenty of opportunity for play. You won’t get a much better view of the Broads’ lifestyle than from a pitch at Gale Cruisers. This Caravan Club members-only site is a five-pitch lawned area on the edge of the River Chet close to Loddon. Most pitches give views of the river, with some being close to the water’s edge. The watery scenes are nice
enough but visitors often get great views of wildlife including kingfishers, herons,
and barn owls direct from the site.

Wales - Tyddyn Llwyn Camping, Caravan & Touring Park

Nestling in a secluded valley, Tyddyn Llwyn sits at the foot of a mountain in a large area of partially-wooded countryside. There is direct access to some challenging footpaths – the mountain is called Moel-y-Gest and rises to 263m, its summit offering spectacular views of the Borth-y-Gest estuary, Criccieth and its castle. It’s only a few minutes’ drive to the beach at Black Rock Sands. Touring
facilities include shower blocks with family cubicles, park-wide wi-fi and all-weather
pitches with electric hook-up. On site is a play area and games room, while the
licensed bar and grill is handy for evening meals.

For a pitch view with a difference, try a spot at Hollands Wood in the New Forest. Imagine waking up in the morning to the view of a group of free-roaming ponies munching the grass right outside your van. This is a regular occurrence at Hollands Wood, where the New Forest’s famous natives make their home. This Camping in the Forest site has no electric pitches, but there are toilets and showers. Hollands Wood campsite has direct access to the New Forest with
numerous walking and cycle paths. Ten minutes’ walk away is Brockenhurst
village which has pubs, shops and restaurants.
