The Camping and Caravanning Club has announced that Ruth Doyle will be its new marketing and communications director, taking the place of Matthew Eastlake who left the Club in October after holding the position for five and a half years.
Ruth, who will start the role from 11 January, has previously held senior marketing positions at organisations such as the Leicester Haymarket Theatre, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, and the Royal Society of Chemistry. Interim director, Erika Coghlan, will work alongside Ruth until the end of February.
Discussing the new position, Ruth said: "Having worked in professional bodies for the last seven years, I'm excited to move into a new sector and support the success of a household name, as well as one of the largest membership bodies in the UK.
"The recession has seen many people take another look at camping and caravanning, and the Club has helped them find more than just great value for their money. They've found a way to experience the outdoors, relax with family and friends, and go where they want.
"I'm looking forward to joining a very professional team and ensuring the Club's continued success."
Robert Louden, director general, added: "Our marketing and communications department is an integral part of our organisation and is continually striving to promote the Club and its ethos.
"Ruth has a wealth of knowledge within the membership/professional bodies arena, which will only help the Club to strengthen its position as the outdoor industry leader."
