Camping and caravanning sites plotted on atlas

Map and atlas publisher Philip’s has teamed up with the Camping and Caravanning Club to produce a dedicated road atlas.
The Navigator Camping and Caravanning Atlas of Britain plots the positions of 3000 campsites at 1:100,000 scale, said to be the most detailed road mapping of Britain available and showing detail down to farm track level.Included are the 100+ Camping and Caravanning Club sites, 15 Camping in the Forest campsites operated in conjunction with the Forestry Commission, over 1600 smaller Certificated Sites, and a further 1500 or so campsites listed by the Camping and Caravanning Club.
We’ve been looking at a copy of the atlas, and it’s certainly a hefty thing. It’s a little shorter than A3 in size, and 400 pages thick, with a convenient fold-flat spiral binding. Atlas publishers are forced to juggle the conflicting demands of detail vs bulk, and in this case the need for detail wins out. We were pleased to see three double-page spreads showing the UK at 1:1,000,000, for route planning purposes.
The Navigator Camping and Caravanning Atlas of Britain 2014 (the date does not appear on the volume) has a cover price of £19.99 and is available to club members at the reduced price of £12.99 + £4 delivery (non-members may also order the atlas via this link).
