The 28 new acts confirmed for the annual 'BBC Introducing...in Gloucestershire' stage at the Wychwood Festival have been unveiled.

For the first time the public were given the opportunity to help draw up the line-up through the festival's Facebook profile.

BBC Introducing presenters from BBC Radio Gloucestershire and the six surrounding regions each submitted 10 emerging acts that are currently being championed on their stations.

Fans of the 70 submitted bands plus fans of the festival could then vote on their favourites. The public votes were then combined with the verdicts of the expert judging panel to create three days worth of emerging talent.

The judges included BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, Wychwood Festival director Graeme Merifield and The Independent's music editor Elisa Bray. The full line-up will be available on the Wychwood website.

Festival organisers also announced appearances from comedian Robin Ince and his Robin Ince Science show as well as music from acoustic roots duo Show Of Hands, You Tube sensation Danny Shah, Tallulah Rendall and Gemma Hayes.

Headlining the festival, which takes place between 8-10 June at Cheltenham Racecourse, are James, Bellowhead and the Saw Doctors and tickets and camping passes are on sale via the website.

Camping
magazine is one of the festival's sponsors.
