A good old-fashioned walk can fight depression, according to new research.

Although the positive effects of vigorous exercise are well documented in their ability to stave off depression, the benefits of a brisk stroll are just coming to light.

In fact the study in the journal Mental Health and Physical Activity showed walking had a "large effect" on depression.
