Sand le Mere
Sand le Mere
Sand le Mere Holiday Village benefits from a great position amid stunning countryside, sandy beaches and local attractions.

It is an independently run holiday park on the East Coast in Yorkshire with private beach access. The location of the park is in over 100 acres of beautiful countryside with 250 metres of beach frontage and the addition of private beach access.

A new area for touring caravans and campers opened in August 2011. Boasting both standard and super pitches, motorhomes, caravans and tents are welcome. The wealth of facilities include showers, toilets and a laundry. There's a dishwashing area, accessible shower and WC and pets are welcome. On bank holiday weekends a three night minimum stay applies for touring and camping guests.

Guests can also choose to own their own holiday home at Sand le Mere - there are static caravans available and luxury lodges. If you don't fancy owning a holiday home but want to have a break at Sand le Mere then you can hire a static caravan or luxury lodge instead.

Whichever accommodation they choose guests can benefit from an outdoor heated swimming pool, fitness suite*, clubhouse with entertainment, a diner, shop and launderette*. For children there is an adventure playground and play area, crazy golf*, trampolines* and pool* (*charges apply). Everyone will be spoilt for choice for things to do. There is also on-site fishing and sea fishing available (rod licence required). For completion in 2012, Sand le Mere is having a £4 million pound investment to build stunning new facilities for their guests. The new development will include an indoor swimming pool, well stocked shop, soft play area and gym, a bar, restaurant, cafe and takeaway, and also a brand new entertainment complex with show lounge and amusement arcade.

At the back of the holiday village is the coast. There is direct access from the park to the beach which is a long stretch of golden sand backed by cliffs. You can walk along the sand all the way to Withernsea and spend many an hour here just listening to the sounds of the waves. Dogs are allowed on this stretch of the beach too meaning your four-legged friend can enjoy a good walk and dip in the sea.

Exploring further afield there are the seaside resorts of Hornsea, Bridlington and Scarborough providing a great day out at the beach. You can also take a trip inland to visit the major tourist centres of Beverley, York and Lincoln. In the local area there are miles of country walks, boating, pony rides and cycle routes. Spurn Point is a national nature reserve situated on the north bank of the entrance to the River Humber. It's also home of the Humber Lifeboat and a beautiful place for bird watching, sea fishing, walking or just enjoying a family day out. The Deep, located at Hull, is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world and home to over 3,500 fish including sharks and rays.

So whatever your requirement in a holiday you are sure to find it at Sand le Mere.

we stayed at sand le mere for a supoosed long weekend in may it was so bad we didnt stay in the end , the break was booked from fri to mon in a luxury caravan which we paid extra for as it states in their own brochure that the caravan has central heating and may can be chilly ; however on booking in the caravan had no central heating, only electric hot air blowers that didnt work, the boiler wouldnt stay lit ,so we pointed this out in receptoin, they said we had been allocated a luxurycaravan and only luxury plus had central heating, and they send someone to look at the boiler,a while later a security guard turned up and couldnt get the boiler to saty lit , so he went and returned later with a piezo lighter which he said would have keep relighting the boiler with ,how the heck are we supposed to shower , any way we went off out to explore the area and have a meal, when we came back we had been given an electronic key to gain access to gain entry backinto site as the barrier was supposed to close at 6, however the barrier was still open and everyone, from the area, was gaining access ,racing round like maniacs , all around the front of the club , we stayed had a cup of tea , then was thinking of getting ready to go in the club for a drink and i went into the bedroom to get changed, pulled back the quilt on the bed and the bedding was absolutey filthy, that was the last straw we packed up and went home ,we have stayed in caravans all over devon ,norfolk and varoius other places ,never here again , the staff just did not want to know they were most unhelpfull, the site was not organized at all ,and very run down, the caravan was not as described and paid for, and all heat and boiler was broken , and the van was filhty and damp ,most dissapointed ,and out of pocket .i should have took photos on my phone ,to support this but never thought about it untill we`d left .
